The evidence shows the place 王村 is near to the border of 茂名, which means current 茂名市电白区沙院镇 (formerly under 茂港区). See the following.

起=杨梅村, 途经1=博茂社区, 途经2=老鸦埇村, 途经3=旭金村, 途经4=碌西村, 途经5=王村港村, 终=沙院镇

That means it is the variant of 旭. The local people in 覃巴, 王村港 and 沙院 speak Leizhou dialects (under Chinese Min-nan dialects), but some geographic names look not like the common Han names (汉名).
